Membership ASME is a very valuable organization for engineering students specifically mechanical. First, the society is beneficial in enabling students to network can be helpful in finding a job. Second, the society has meetings every week where we meet for lunch and occasionally have guest speakers who discus his or her engineering careers. Lastly ASME provides each of its members with a monthly newsletter as well as a magazine. I personally find the two publications very informative, discussing new technologies and current applications of mechanical engineering. There are 2 ways to become a member: 1. Come to the meetings listed in the calendar section and fill out a form. This method ensures a small portion of your fees goes to the SDSU chapter. 2. Fill out the application online, but you must put the code 0909A in the School Section field in order to give a portion of the proceeds to our chapter. Leave the Promo Code field blank though.
